The ONElinear is engineered with a classically ‘British’ linear frequency response curve. The objective is complete neutrality, allowing the full character of the music to be revealed. A loudspeaker, however, can only be truly perfected if it is known which amplifier system will be driving it. In this case, the ONElinear has been optimised for use with our own hybrid Class D amplifier topologies.
ONElinear, whilst designed to work exceptionally well with our own amplification design, is a great loudspeaker by any standards. Often ‘linear’ or flat response loudspeakers can end up dull in execution, but we have focussed on leading-edge detail.
The ONElinear bass/mid driver uses a double-wound copper-coated aluminium voice-coil. As well as being light, this produces a stronger induced magnetic field and hence ‘grip’ over hard to control bass frequencies. The voice coil is bonded to a carefully profiled KEVLAR cone material. This material is light and responsive, carrying limited inertia and retaining its shape and hence audio characteristic even when pushed hard. The speed and accuracy of the resulting bass response is remarkable for a speaker of the size.

The ‘tweeter’ or treble unit is a textile soft-dome, capable of meaningful response well beyond the limits of human hearing. Refined and balanced, the high-frequencies are never ‘aggressive’ or harsh, yet retain the full detail of the source recording.
The crossover uses high quality electrolytic capacitors to maintain the signal integrity and a smooth phase response through the transition from bass driver to tweeter. This again contributes the even response.

The cabinet has been developed using advanced computer modelling with ‘Delayed Cumulative Spectral Analysis’ to reduce the contribution of cabinet noise to levels more than 35dB below the driver output. The same computer modelling is also used to fine tune the crossover to ensure a consistent performance, even when listening ‘off-axis’.

The ONElinear is rear-ported and designed to be positioned between 10-30cm from a rear wall. This will optimise the bass response and mid-range clarity, although some experimentation with position is advised as this will be room-dependent.

The ONE also has serious ‘Head-Fi’ credentials. The built-in Class AB headphone amplifier is exceptional. When used in this mode, the full power of the large toroidal transformer is diverted to power this amplifier section, producing a dynamic range and level of control rarely seen in even dedicated headphone amplifiers.
Another innovation from our design team and implemented in the Cyrus ONE is the ‘SID’ system. This stands for ‘Speaker Impedance Detection’ system. When the amplifier is powered on, it measures the connected speakers and automatically calibrates the amplifier to deliver the best possible performance.

Our over-arching design objective with the Cyrus ONE was to craft an integrated amplifier product that is as relevant and important today as the original Cyrus One product was in the 1980s. We wanted it to be affordable, drive pretty much every speaker system on the market and be a fantastic entry point to the core values our brand represents. Whilst the HARK III is a considerably weighty rack to aid the suppression of vibrations, we have been exploring new vibration-damping materials to further isolate components.

As part of our development of HARK III, we have employed the result of this research, a brand-new synthetic material designed to suppress and absorb micro-vibrations transmitted through the rack, to ensure complete mechanical isolation of the Cyrus products when in operation. This new material, called ‘Cyruthane’ is applied to each shelf on the triangular product mount points, providing industry-leading mechanical isolation.

HARK III has also been designed with a fully integrated cable and power block management system, easily accessible from the front of the rack via an access door running the full height of HARK III. Large enough to accommodate a linear 8 gang power strip, as well as even larger after-market cable options, HARK III will keep your Cyrus audio system tidy and organised.

The ONE Cast can stream directly from a source connected over Wi-Fi through Airplay 2 and Chromecast. When music is cast to the device it automatically wakes from standby and selects the cast input.

An AV mode also allows the ONE Cast to integrate with existing home theatre systems.

The ONE Cast also comes with an analogue RCA input, phono stage, headphone amplifier, digital optical and TOSLINK inputs, HDMI ARC, aptX Bluetooth and a USB input up to 32-bit, 192kHz or DSD128.

CD is the format of choice for many audiophiles. When listening to recordings from the likes of Chesky Records or Opus3, it’s hard to argue against that – but CD hardware needs to be given the respect it deserves.

The CD i is one of our proudest achievements as a company.
Our CD players are better because they generate far less background noise than most. We call this our SE or Servo-Evolution technology. The principle itself is quite simple. Usually the laser mechanism (servo) which reads the data from a disc makes tiny movements side to side quite quickly to re-read miss-read data – this create ‘servo noise’ and that impacts the ‘noise-floor’ limiting the quality of the sound output.
The principle objective with our CD players is to extract the data on the disc as accurately as possible the first time – and that is only possible through some very careful design and calibration in both the hardware and software elements of the player.
The CD i is our ‘integrated’ model in the range, including a built in ‘Digital to Analogue’ converter, converting that digital data into a beautiful analogue signal, using an extremely refined 32bit DAC.
The circuit of the CD i has been designed in 2 discrete sections, allowing the product to be upgradeable through the addition of our separate power supply (the PSX R2). This addition completely isolates the DAC section of the product, improving timing and eliminating any intermodulation which can impact the delicate analogue signals output. Whilst not necessary for outstanding performance, this addition is a valuable upgrade for the serious audiophile.[/expand]

The Pre2DAC QXR is a standard Pre2DAC with the new QXR digital card pre-installed. This new card improves the sound quality across all the digital inputs, increasing the possible input resolution to 32bit/ 768k (DSD 512) through the USB connection. Using a new ESS-based DAC, we have also introduced a new ‘reclocking’ process across all the digital inputs, to reduce jitter and lower the noise floor, as well as allowing a much shallower filter slope than ever before, virtually eliminating phase interference in the audible band (an approach only previously possible with noisy FPGA DAC solutions).

The Pre₂ DAC offers complete control of your analogue and digital sources. With perfect balance, it delivers a superlative performance, although can easily be upgraded through the addition of a PSX R2 and QX module.
The Pre2 DAC separates the pre amp into its own chassis and provides a dedicated power supply which means the pre amp can resolve more detail. Complete with a built-in DAC, the pre amp is compatible with a very wide range of sources such as CD players, streamers or your TV digital audio out.
The Pre2 DAC offers a sonic step up in performance from our integrated amplifiers. This is achieved because the pre amplifier circuitry has its own power supply. The internal power supply provides isolation from the demands of other system elements, making available an additional level of dynamics and resolution. The digital section also sounds better for the same reasons, especially when used with the optional Qx card, the audio quality rises further still.
If a PSX R2 is connected, owners will hear a large jump in performance as the PSX R2 feeds the pre amp with a highly regulated and super smooth DC feed. The sonic uplift from the PSX R2 means the close tolerance components in the pre amp can be fully appreciated as they now benefit from the smoother supply.
The Pre2 DAC includes a carefully designed top quality digital section built into the pre amplifier with a Burr Brown 24-bit/192k DAC and a carefully designed power supply. With 5 digital inputs that enable the amplifier to connect and clearly improve the sound of connected digital sources including; your computer, DVD player, TV and many other digital sources.
In the QXR version, in which we use a new ESS-based DAC, as well as allowing input resolutions up to 32bit/ 768k, we have also introduced a new ‘reclocking’ process across all the digital inputs.
