The human perception of sound shows that the volume required for low frequencies requires far more power than is required for midrange and high frequencies. The lowest frequency is directly proportional to the size of the woofer and the internal volume of the enclosure. For smaller loudspeakers itis physically impossible to reproduce the lowest bass. The only solution is to add a subwoofer – a dedicated loudspeaker to reproduce the lowest bass frequencies. The humanear can very accurately perceive the direction of frequencies above 100Hz. High frequencies are transmitted as a narrow beam, medium frequencies as a cone and low bass frequencies spread spherically.
